Deborah L. Barrow

Deborah Barrow, Board of Directors, The Dreyfuss InitiativeDeborah L. Barrow is the director of the San Diego Public Library system, which is composed of the Central Library and 35 branches in the City of San Diego. She has over 20 years experience in public service and library management, library technology, facility planning, and staff organization and development for library systems in the cities of Sunnyvale, Watsonville and Chula Vista.

 

Apart from her involvement in professional organizations, Deborah has served on the boards of a number of social services, including the United Way of Santa Cruz County and Soroptimist International of Watsonville. In Monterey County, Deborah served as a board member for an agency that helped establish housing and provide services for adults with dual diagnosis mental illness. Deborah also was teacher abroad in her early career.
